The 2nd EULAC-FOCUS partner event took place in Berlin, Germany from 28th to 31st August 2016. Close to 50 invited guests and 30 project partners and transectorial board members took part in the meeting, which was the opportunity for all to find out more about the work already carried out by partners to date as well as the work to be completed in the not so far future.

The event started with a partner meeting which was the opportunity for all work packages to demonstrate the achievements already accomplished as well as present their plans for the immediate future. The meeting was also the first opportunity for transectorial board members to hear more about the project objectives and give their initial feedbacks and advice on the direction each of the 5 main work packages should take in their work.

Day one of the meeting ended with a public meeting that took place at IAI's beautiful oratory building where Barbara Göbel of IAI, Paola Amadei of EULAC Foundation, Hebe Vessuri of Unam,  Rigas Arvanitis of IRD and Ramon Torrent of the University of Barcelona, presented their views of the current state of collaboration between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean and answered questions from the floor where Ambassadors and representatives from many Latin American and Caribbean countries were present.

The following 2 days, saw further discussions and debates between partners and transectorial board members in individual parallel Work package sessions, where focus was sought on the data that has already been collected and the way that it should be both presented and exploited further. These 2 days where a great opportunity for such a dispersed team to sit down and work together on consolidating the first achievements of the project and set the objectives for the next phase of the project.

We look forward to meeting again as a team in Ecuador in March 2017, which will be the opportunity to meet and present the project to new stakeholders and interested parties.
