Giving focus to the Cultural, Scientific and Social Dimension of EU - CELAC relations

4th EULAC-Focus project event in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 7th - 10th November 2017
The EULAC-Focus Project of the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Union, held from 7 to 10 November in the Argentine city of Buenos Aires, its 4th project workshop. The meeting brought together all the participants in the project, including project partners and trans-sectorial board members. This was the opportunity for the project team not only to analyze the progress of the planned programming in the different lines of work, but also to work together on building the scenarios in which the prospects for renewed cooperation in the areas of cutural, scientifc and social relations between the European Union and the community of Latin American and Caribbean States could be examined.
The EULAC-FOCUS meeting started on day 1 with a meeting of the WP3, cultural dimension team and invited guests from across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe to discuss the qualitative analysis of the questionnaires on the diagnostic of the cultural relation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean and the questionnaires on the strategies for strenthening the relations between the two regions.
Finally the EULAC-Focus Project and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCYT) together with the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) also organised on 8th November 2017 a public meeting entitled "Gender and Transnational Knowledge Networks: Status and Participation in the international scientific exchange" chaired by Guillermina D’Onofrio (National Director of Programmes and Projects de la Red Argentina de Género, Ciencia y Tecnología), that heard presentations from a number of previous projects and saw passionate discussions on a subject that is very topical nowadays.
We look forward to our next meeting in Vienna, Austria in June 2018.
