Giving focus to the Cultural, Scientific and Social Dimension of EU - CELAC relations

5th EULAC-Focus project event in Vienna, Austria, 5th -7th June 2018
The EULAC-Focus Project of the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Union, held from 5th -7th June 2018 in Vienna, its 5th project workshop. The meeting brought together all the participants in the project, including project partners and trans-sectorial board members. This was the opportunity for the project team to focus on further developing the scenarios in which the prospects for renewed cooperation in the areas of cutural, scientifc and social relations between the European Union and the community of Latin American and Caribbean States could be examined as well as looking at the plan for the last phase of work.
Finally the EULAC-Focus Project and Zsi also organised on 6th June 2018 a public meeting entitled "The UN Sustainable Development Goals: How do they frame social relations between the European Union (EU) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC)?". The discussion contributed to the exchange of experience on the 2030 Agenda and good governance at the regional level, Nature-Society-Nexus and multi-stakeholder learning, Translation of new ethics (community-centric, ecologically balanced, culturally sensitive) into normative principles in the public and political sphere and Harmonization of actions for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda between different agencies, funds and specialised programmes.
